The NHST is excited to share below our activities during Pride Month. We hope you’re able to join us!
1st June – 10th July – HIV exhibition
Visit our permanent HIVstory exhibition on site at the London Archives. The exhibition brings to life just a handful of the stories the NHST has collected.
Visiting hours are here and you can find out more about our wider work with the London Archives here.
17th June – pop-up HIV exhibition at Stratford Station
As part of our Lottery-funded HIVstory project, we are bringing our pop-up exhibition to Stratford train station which now sits on the Mildmay Line. Named in honour of Mildmay Hospital, the line recognises its early pioneering care for people with HIV and AIDS as well as its support for LGBTQIA+ communities. So if you are passing through, take a few minutes to explore these fascinating stories.
You can find the pop-up by the Jubilee Line entrance during the afternoon.
19th June – Visible HIVstory film night
We are hosting a free film night of HIV stories at UCL in East London, please RSVP here.
‘Visible HIVstory’ is an evening of three films which tell the stories of people whose lives have been affected by HIV and AIDS in quite different ways: from those who survived or died, to those who still live with HIV and, in the case of Leigh Bowery, an incredible artist who refused to let his HIV positive status to negatively affect his career or friendships.
