We recently interview Lord Fowler, who was Health Secretary under Margaret Thatcher during the AIDS crisis, and was responsible for the UK’s largest ever public health campaign, Don’t Die of Ignorance.

He told us that despite not knowing much about gay culture at the time, he was motivated by the attacks on gay people to launch the Don’t Die of Ignorance campaign.

You can read more of Lord Fowler’s comments in The Herald.
